Golden Boys Premium Must-See True Crime Drama starring Nigel Havers

Exclusive UK Premiere

Monday 10 August (First two episodes)

Trailer

Inspired by true events, and with a Netflix documentary coming soon, Golden Boys follows the meteoric rise and dramatic downfall of two cousins behind the financial heist that made headlines across Europe and stars British acting favourite Nigel Havers, alongside Adam Lundgren, Erik Svedberg-Zelman and Viktor Björkberg.

Stockholm, 1997. Financial criminal Joachim Posener, newly released from prison, dreams of building an empire and gaining power, respect and success. Driven by a need to prove himself to his parents and provide for his seven-year-old son, he joins forces with his reckless, boundary-pushing cousin, Thomas Jisander.

Together, they party hard, dream big, and devise a wildly illegal scheme to seize control of a major Swedish investment company – using an enigmatic British aristocrat as their front man. Calling themselves the “Golden Boys,” they pull off the largest financial crime in Swedish history.

But as a determined journalist begins to uncover the truth and the media and police close in, cracks form within the group. When the scheme collapses, Posener disappears without a trace, abandoning everyone closest to him – Jisander, his parents and his son.

My Life as a Comedian (En Komikers Uppväxt) – Comedy Drama Feature

UK Exclusive

Monday 24 August

‘An exceptionally worthwhile film… beautifully made and profoundly moving’ DVD Kritiks

Based on Jonas Gardell’s seminal 1992 novel, a Swedish cultural phenomenon that every eighth-grade student in the country had, My Life as a Comedian is a beautifully crafted film adaptation written by Gardell himself, starring Johan Rheborg (A Life’s Worth) alongside breakout talent Loke Hellberg.

In the late 1970s, 12-year-old Juha is the ultimate class clown of suburban Sävbyholm, willing to do absolutely anything to survive the schoolyard pecking order and win the validation of the cool crowd. Desperate to belong, he relentlessly tells jokes and performs sketches, just to get in with the popular kids.

Decades later, Juha has channelled his bittersweet childhood into a successful stand-up career and is touring in a hit show. But the comedy spin on his story isn't reality and when an unexpected visitor shows up it forces him to face the truth behind the punchlines.

‘Superbly acted and very well observed’ Every Film

Beautifully crafted, dark comedy-drama Headfirst explores generational survival and the unbreakable bonds of family. Directed by Antti Heikki Pesonen and starring Armi Toivanen, Eero Ritala, Kai Lehtinen and Mimosa Willamo, the feature arrives on Viaplay this Summer.

Headfirst is the story of hot-tempered single mother Essi and her equally stubborn teenage daughter, Takku, who constantly finds herself in trouble at school.

Essi watches her life unravel when an incident with Takku leads to social services intervening. After transferring to yet another school, comes a new teacher and a blast from the past for the Essi. A pickpocket and a crummy storyteller team up with this beautifully dysfunctional family, as they navigate missing teeth, strange friends, hidden dreams and long-gone love and their lives will never be the same again.
