Save Me – Gritty Greek Noir Thriller
Exclusive UK Premiere
Monday 22 June (two episodes weekly)
Seen on Netflix Greece and set in the atmospheric landscapes of northern Greece, this gripping psychological thriller follows Nikol (Danae Skiadi), a young woodcarver who returns to her hometown in Komotini for her father’s memorial. But not long after she arrives, her younger sister mysteriously vanishes. As Nikol tries to unravel the unsettling circumstances surrounding the disappearance, she teams up with a determined local detective (Elena Mavridou) whose own demons mirror the town’s long buried secrets. Together they navigate a web of lies, trauma, and long-suppressed truths hidden beneath the surface of an outwardly quiet community.
What begins as a missing persons search quickly spirals into a tense search for a serial killer, forcing both Nikol and the detective to confront guilt, corruption, and the dangerous consequences of uncovering the past. As time runs out, the investigation exposes just how far people will go to protect their own – and how darkness can thrive in the most ordinary places.
This gritty and enthralling series is based on the popular novel of the same name by author Dimitris Simos, who also acts as head screenwriter on the series.

“This superior Nordic noir is intense, sexy, well-acted and unnerving” – San Jose Mercury News
Showcasing Nordic noir at its very best, Black Sands (Svörtu sandar) earned 18 TV award nominations in Iceland, making it one of the country’s most nominated series of the past five years. Now, the highly acclaimed series returns for its second and final riveting outing, exclusively on Viaplay, with two episodes dropping weekly.
Set against Iceland’s famous black sands, the darkly gripping crime drama features stunning cinematography and follows troubled police officer Anita (Aldis Amah Hamilton – Netflix’s The Valhalla Murders), who is forced back to her hometown to track a serial killer who has been avoiding capture for years by disguising murders as accidents.
Season two follows 14 months on from the Black Sands tragedy, it’s the bleak Arctic winter and the survivors are still haunted by the revelation that a beloved resident was a serial killer, but the mystery deepens with the strange death of an elderly woman, followed by another shocking murder.
As the investigation unfolds, the town's dark history of abuse and negligence is exposed, and when Aníta learns that the serial killer they caught was only one small part of a much larger, insidious secret, she’s forced to resort to drastic measures to put an end to the tragedy, pushing her to her limits.
