Not only is Lena Philipsson one of Sweden’s most successful musical artists, who has recently been announced as the new lead singer of band Roxette, but her hit song The Street Where I Live has also inspired a six-part drama series of the same name in which she also plays the lead. Now this heartwarming story of love, neighbourhood and unexpected intrigue gets its UK premiere exclusively on Viaplay this April.
In the wake of tragedy, Nina finds solace and purpose as the cherished pillar of her tight-knit community, navigating the complexities of single parenthood and the challenges of trying to move on, but things are about to change when she meets someone new.
This Viaplay Original is created and written by Mikael Newihl (Max Anger - With One Eye Open) we meet single Mum, Nina, who is living with her two teenage children on an idyllic residential street in Sweden. When her husband Erik passed away four years ago, her neighbours were a huge support and their continued care in the subsequent years has meant the world to her. But when she meets Richard (Ilkka Villi) and allows herself to love again, it transpires that her new romance affects the entire street.

It shows the devastating impact of the Polish government’s introduction of an abortion ban and follows four inspiring women who set up the Abortion Dream Team to defy the system to aid those in need. The four friends find themselves carrying a huge weight of responsibility and risk on their shoulders. Can they continue their mission and what price will they have to pay?
In Poland, the abortion ban protects a foetus over a woman’s life. Four courageous women set up a hotline to support their sisters in need. Known as the Abortion Dream Team they work around the clock and have built a huge following, with a strong social media presence that has empowered hundreds of thousands of women, while angering the conservatives and the government.
This dangerous battle leads to a complete burnout of one team member and to the political prosecution of another, threatening her with years in prison. As the women reach breaking point, can the mission and sisterhood survive?
