Sweeping six-part crime drama series Mafia – inspired by true events – charts the transformation of 1990s Sweden as it goes from a relatively peaceful nation, untouched by organised crime, into a country marred by brutal gang warfare and violence.
The gritty and enthralling Viaplay Original gets its UK premiere exclusively this June and follows notorious gangster and criminal visionary Radovan "Jakov" Jakovic (Peshang Rad as he rises through the ranks of the criminal underworld.
A lone police officer, Gunn Thörngren (Katia Winter is ahead of the game when it comes to organised crime, spotting their looming menace, sparked by an alarming rise in cigarette smuggling and a worrying pattern of corruption hidden beneath it.
