“An engrossing political thriller with striking visuals, gripping twists and a first-class cast” – Mitteldeutsche Zeitung
Powerful new political thriller Dangerous Truth – from award-winning director Barbara Eder (The Swarm, Barbarians) – is inspired by true events that took place in 2003, in the lead up to the invasion of Iraq. The thrilling new drama, centres on a young man who tries to find out the truth about the murder of his father, who was a sniper for the Bundeswehr and is set for its UK premiere exclusively on Viaplay this April.
The intensely gripping drama introduces us to Alex Jaromin (Noah Saavedra), a photographer in his 30s, who has lived with his mother under a false name in the BKA witness protection programme in Athens for 20 years. When she dies, he learns that the deaths of his father and his sister in 2003 were not, as he had assumed, the work of Serbian nationalists.
In his search for the truth, he uncovers evidence that his father was commissioned by the German government to bring a witness out of Baghdad – with the aim of preventing the impending US war against Iraq, which was based on dubious information from the BND informant "Curveball". Alex's research stirs up a storm in political Berlin, but as he follows more leads, Alex finds himself in increasingly grave danger.

Inspired by true events, in 18th-century Poland, an illiterate serf, Ignac (award-winning actor Bartosz Bielenia, star of the Oscar-nominated Corpus Christi with multiple Best Actor wins), embarks on a perilous quest to prove his noble heritage, while unexpectedly getting entangled in a rebellion led by historical figure General Tadeusz “Kos” Kościuszko (Jacek Braciak – Leave No Traces).
Spring 1794, Poland is in turmoil. “Kos” returns to Poland and plans to start an uprising against the Russians by mobilising the Polish nobility and peasants. He is accompanied by his faithful friend and former slave, Domingo (award-winning American actor Jason Mitchell – Straight Outta Compton, Mudbound). Kościuszko is followed by a ruthless Russian captain, Dunin (Robert Więckiewicz), who wants to capture the general at any cost before he triggers a national rebellion.
Meanwhile, a young peasant, Ignac (Bartosz Bielenia), a noble bastard, dreams of receiving his coat of arms and property from his illegitimate parent, Duchnowski (Andrzej Seweryn), who includes him in his will just before his death. When his father dies, the boy must flee from his half-brother Stanisław (Piotr Pacek), who wants to prevent the execution of his father’s will. Ignac steals the will and has just two days to appear in court to prove his title of nobility. In his escape, Ignac meets Domingo. A strong bond of understanding forms between the men, even though they do not speak the same language. They end up at the manor house of the Colonel’s Wife (Agnieszka Grochowska), where Kościuszko hides while waiting for negotiations with the magnates.
Distrustful of Ignac, Kos keeps him under arrest, but, at the decisive moment, the fate of the uprising will lie in the hands of the inconspicuous Ignac, who will have to choose whether to follow his dream of nobility or join “Kos” and fight for the highest stakes with him.
Winner of the Golden Lion (Top Honour) for Best Film as well as Best Editing, Best Makeup and Best Supporting Actor (Robert Wieckiewicz) at the prestigious Polish film festival Gdynia along with several other festival awards and a Directors Guild of Poland nomination, Scarborn is a thrilling, modern, action-packed and universal story about people who overcome prejudice and differences in the name of freedom and equality.

“A gripping, near-future political thriller… Smartly written… thrillingly fast-paced” - TIME Magazine
In the year 2037, Norway has become a self-sufficient utopia – cut off from the rest of the world by a towering wall. The country thrives in isolation, with local food production, clean energy and strict border control. But when a deadly virus begins to spread, the wall meant to protect its citizens becomes a prison.
As panic escalates, the government enforces increasingly authoritarian measures. Surveillance intensifies, resources dwindle, and trust erodes. At the heart of the story are two families – one inside the wall and one on the outside – fighting to reunite and survive in a society on the brink.
The Fortress starring Tobias Santelmann (The Last Kingdom, Veronika), Russell Tovey (Gavin & Stacey, Him & Her), Selome Emnetu (The Trip, Okkupert) and Eili Harboe (Succession, Thelma), is a gripping and timely drama that explores themes of isolationism, migration and political control. With cinematic visuals, a compelling international cast, and chilling relevance to today’s world, the series offers a powerful narrative for audiences seeking smart, thought-provoking entertainment.
