Scenes After a Marriage Intimate, real-time relationship drama

Exclusive UK Premiere

Monday 26 January (two episodes at launch, two episodes weekly through 16 February)

From acclaimed screenwriter Veronica Zacco (The Bridge, Top Dog) and featuring a stellar cast led by Ardalan Esmaili (Lockerbie with Colin Firth, The Helicopter Heist) and Eva Röse (Maria Wern, Honour, The Postcard Killings), Scenes After a Marriage is born from personal experience and captures the heartbreak, humour and unpredictability of relationships in a uniquely immersive format.

Recently separated, Lovis (Röse) and Kian (Esmaili) have shared custody of their children and when it’s time to drop them off, they meet at a roadside restaurant near the bridge connecting Sweden and Denmark.  Kian is still hopeful for reconciliation and asks Lovis to wait three months, until Christmas, before signing the divorce papers. The series unfolds through these brief encounters, as they each begin to reevaluate their choices, dreams and feelings for each other. Is it too late for a second chance?

Scenes After a Marriage strips relationships down to their core, creating an intimate and emotionally charged chamber play. With just one location, two deeply complex characters and dialogue that oscillates between sharp humour and raw emotion, the series captures the universal struggles of love, loss and the uncertainty of divorce. The masterful writing, world-class performances and strikingly simple yet powerful premise, make it deeply personal and universally relatable.

The Curse – Comedy Drama Feature Film

UK Premiere

Monday 5 January

Trailer

In hilarious new feature The Curse, set for its UK premiere exclusively on Viaplay, two sisters plagued by relentless misfortune discover a family curse and embark on a comical quest to stop it, even if it means outwitting their cursed yet cunning Aunt.

Sisters Nastka (Vanessa AleksanderThe Office Poland, Dancing with the Stars Poland winner) and Monia (Agnieszka Więdłocha) are trying to live as thoughtful, independent, autonomous women, but, in practice, both their lives are constantly ruled by terrible bad luck...

Just when things are going well, suddenly the unexpected happens, ruining everything. It’s guaranteed that something will always go wrong, just like two plus two equals four. Nothing ever goes to plan for the siblings. Tired, exhausted and broken, they visit the only place where they feel safe, their family home to see their Mum (Danuta StenkaThe Wedding) and Grandma (Anna Nehrebecka).

Their family get togethers, with a glass of wine and plenty of chat, are a respite, that is until their grandmother reveals a long-hidden secret, after one glass too many. It turns out that the misfortune that has haunted them, is the result of a nefarious deed of their great-great-great-grandfather Bogusław. He nabbed a holy picture from The Pope himself, who in turn put a curse on the whole family, all the way to the seventh generation.

When the sisters realise the curse is to blame for their calamities, they’re over the moon, maybe they can stop this troublesome affliction. But who in the family is it supposed to end with? When they realise it’s their Aunt Aniela, Grandma’s annoying twin sister, they know it’s going to be a mammoth task. Their wicked Aunt is very much alive, so how can they make her disappear?

Break The Curse and watch this wickedly wacky new feature for an entertainingly fun romp.
