Interview Opp: Star/Director/Songwriter Aksel Hennie
From the producers of Nordic hits Pørni/Pernille and Furia and led by Norwegian superstar Aksel Hennie (The Martian, Sisu, Headhunters) – who also directs – this gripping drama follows an aging rock musician forced to confront his greatest challenge when the mother of his child dies tragically – now he must struggle to balance fatherhood, fame and the haunting choices of his past.
When old rocker Even – who left his hometown, Eidsvoll, many years ago to focus on himself and his music career – hears the mother of his 16-year-old daughter, Annie, has died under tragic circumstances, he has no choice but to return there, to be with his child, who he hasn’t seen in many years.
Forced back to a place and a life he fled from, and to somewhere he vowed to never go back to, he must now reunite with Annie, who has no choice but to confront her father who abandoned her. Can Even and Annie manage to build a new bond after so many lost years? As Even struggles to hold down his music career and contend with being a father to a teenager, will Annie learn to trust her dad again and believe that this time he’s here to stay?
Stay tuned for this enthralling and emotional family drama.

The Curse – Comedy Drama Feature Film
UK Premiere
Monday 5 January
In hilarious new feature The Curse, set for its UK premiere exclusively on Viaplay, two sisters plagued by relentless misfortune discover a family curse and embark on a comical quest to stop it, even if it means outwitting their cursed yet cunning Aunt.
Sisters Nastka (Vanessa Aleksander – The Office Poland, Dancing with the Stars Poland winner) and Monia (Agnieszka Więdłocha) are trying to live as thoughtful, independent, autonomous women, but, in practice, both their lives are constantly ruled by terrible bad luck...
Just when things are going well, suddenly the unexpected happens, ruining everything. It’s guaranteed that something will always go wrong, just like two plus two equals four. Nothing ever goes to plan for the siblings. Tired, exhausted and broken, they visit the only place where they feel safe, their family home to see their Mum (Danuta Stenka – The Wedding) and Grandma (Anna Nehrebecka).
Their family get togethers, with a glass of wine and plenty of chat, are a respite, that is until their grandmother reveals a long-hidden secret, after one glass too many. It turns out that the misfortune that has haunted them, is the result of a nefarious deed of their great-great-great-grandfather Bogusław. He nabbed a holy picture from The Pope himself, who in turn put a curse on the whole family, all the way to the seventh generation.
When the sisters realise the curse is to blame for their calamities, they’re over the moon, maybe they can stop this troublesome affliction. But who in the family is it supposed to end with? When they realise it’s their Aunt Aniela, Grandma’s annoying twin sister, they know it’s going to be a mammoth task. Their wicked Aunt is very much alive, so how can they make her disappear?
Break The Curse and watch this wickedly wacky new feature for an entertainingly fun romp.
